Data protection

Rent financing means handling sensitive documents. These are the controls we put around them.

Our commitments

MYRENTA processes personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

  • Identity documents and bank statements are stored in private, encrypted storage.
  • Access is restricted by role and every access is logged.
  • Financial actions are written to an immutable audit trail.
  • Staff access to customer documents requires a business reason and is reviewed.

Your data, on request

You can export everything we hold about you from your profile settings, in a machine-readable format. You can also request deletion of your account; we remove what we are not legally required to retain and tell you what remains and why.

Consent

We record consent for terms, privacy, KYC and data processing at sign-up, with a timestamp. You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.

Incident response

If a breach affecting personal data occurs, we contain it, assess the impact, notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours where required, and tell affected users directly with practical steps to take.

Contacting our DPO
