How it works

Rent financing, explained without the jargon

MYRENTA settles a full year of rent with your landlord and collects it back from you in twelve fixed monthly payments.

If you are renting

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with your name, phone number and email. Choose whether you are renting, listing, or acting as an agent.

  2. 2

    Complete verification

Submit your NIN and BVN, take a selfie for face match, add your employment details and upload six months of bank statements. Your documents are stored privately.

  3. 3

    Get your affordability decision

We assess your income, stability and payment history. Salary earners qualify when the repayment is at most 40% of net monthly income; self-employed applicants need inflow of 2.5× the repayment.

  4. 4

    Pick a home and apply

Apply to any financing-eligible listing. You can apply alone or open a Joint Rent Account with a partner or flatmate and combine incomes.

  5. 5

    Landlord approves, lease is signed

The landlord reviews your verification summary and approves. Both parties sign the lease digitally inside MYRENTA.

  6. 6

    We settle the landlord

Once your lease is signed by both sides, MYRENTA pays your landlord the annual rent.

  7. 7

    Repay monthly

Twelve fixed installments by card or transfer, with autopay, reminders and downloadable receipts. Stay current and your rent certificate stays active.

If you are a landlord or agent

  1. 1

    Verify your identity and ownership

Government ID, selfie, BVN or NIN and proof of ownership such as a C of O, deed or utility bill.

  2. 2

    List your property

Add photos, amenities, rent and location. Listings that pass ownership checks show a verified badge.

  3. 3

    Review applications

Each applicant arrives with a verification summary and a risk score. Approve or decline in one click.

  4. 4

    Get paid upfront

Once the lease is signed and move-in confirmed, the full annual rent is released to your payout account.
